This Blog was set up as a "Talk Back" vehicle for Preston residents to communicate their ideas and opinions on the issues of the day concerning the Town of Preston CT. It has been discontinued effective January 24th, 2009 due to lack of use and commentary. As of this date (Jan 24, 2009) new posts are not being accepted.
Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing, but not when it’s used to hurt people, cast innuendo on their character or otherwise make them feel bad. There is a good chance the person who is “attacked” will not read the Blog and even know he-she has been publicly assailed and hence would not have the opportunity to refute the comment.
If you log in or provide me with an E-mail contact address I will promptly address any issues with you directly.

On Saturday January 19th I had the opportunity to accompany the Norwich Hospital Advisory Committee on its field trip to South Weymouthm Mass. and Hartford to observe first hand projects in progress which LNR Property Corp/Renova Partners and Northland LLC are currently undertaking.
I was quite impressed as to what both these developers have completed to date. We in the Town of Preston are very lucky to have two qualified groups willing and able to remediate and construct what I believe will be a first class project that will benefit not only Preston but the entire region of Southeast Connecticut.
Like some of you, I have a preference of who I would like to see develope the hospital site, however if the Norwich Hospital Committee picks the other developer, I would totally support their decision. This is a win-win situation for Preston. I urge everyone to support the committee recommendation. Mike Clancy
Mike: I appreciate your being the first to comment on our new Preston Talks Back web log. We'll link it to the main website now and see how the public likes it. If it's used we'll keep it going and try to keep it interesting! Bob Payette
It has been closed to the residents for far too long. Open it up to the Public - you might learn something from us all.
