Give us your comments on losing Preston's newspaper, the Preston Pipeline. (Please don't forget to fill out our Poll on this on the right side of this web log)
This Blog was set up as a "Talk Back" vehicle for Preston residents to communicate their ideas and opinions on the issues of the day concerning the Town of Preston CT. It has been discontinued effective January 24th, 2009 due to lack of use and commentary. As of this date (Jan 24, 2009) new posts are not being accepted.
Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing, but not when it’s used to hurt people, cast innuendo on their character or otherwise make them feel bad. There is a good chance the person who is “attacked” will not read the Blog and even know he-she has been publicly assailed and hence would not have the opportunity to refute the comment.
If you log in or provide me with an E-mail contact address I will promptly address any issues with you directly.

I appreciate all the work the committee put into this paper....it was OUR town's local chat. As we have rec'd the last issue, however, I hope this "Preston Talks Back" blog will be not only an opinion blog but also the Preston "society" pages--who is engaged, who got married, new babies (maybe even in that order ??!??), anniversaries, Scout troops, school news, Senior Citizen news...items of local interest. Preston is a treasure!
Jan C. asks a lot! Our oldest grand-daughter was the flower girl at her parents wedding :).
The end of the Pipeline is upon us. I agree with Jan that using this posting service might be an alternative means of keeping some of Preston's good news in print. I miss hearing about Preston's happenings as bits and pieces of news flowed through my office on it's way to the editor. Janet provided a wonderful service for our town for nearly 15 years. Filling her shoes might not be possible but I'm hoping some of those who expressed an interest in continuing the paper might get together and publish a quarterly newsletter. How about it? Call the recreation department if you're interested. All of us owe a huge round of thanks to Bob P for all of his volunteer hours as webmaster. Hopefully we'll have him on board for the next 15 years... Thanks Bob!

I should be the "new" Preston Pipeline......
I have soooooo much to say, and it is going to involve allot of free speech!!!
This is the democracy that should be promoted, as it is that of our founding fathers!
Welcome to the "new" Pipeline......trust me, it's going to be good.....some will like it and some will dislike it, but that is what it is all about....!
Ms. Peep Peeps !
